In this episode, we talk with Kiran Mali, an impact investment consultant, about the critical intersection of wastewater infrastructure and data centers. Kiran talks about three of the most important benefits of putting data centers next to wastewater treatment plants. First, wastewater treatment plant buildings can be used to meet the need for land for data centers in cities. Second, data centers produce a lot of heat, which can be used to make the process of treating wastewater more efficient. Lastly, data centers need a lot of energy, which can be made up for by using the methane gas that is made when wastewater is treated.
